100 WC Week 17

Construction Man

"Ashley, if you reach the top by the end of the day, I'll do your chores for a year." Melanie said to me.
"Deal." I say, determined to reach the top.
I started to climb the stairs, occasionally stopping to stare at the beautiful flowers, then I finally reached the top. I was greeted with a man yelling at the top of his lungs.
"Hey, we're doing construction here!"
"Okay, Okay!" I say petrified and rushed down the stairs.
"Well, Melanie never said anything about having to stay at the top." I say to myself laughing.

100 WC Week 16

Math Test

I was hoping to get out of math class as soon as possible because of the headache I had, but my teacher came in and started handing out a worksheet.  I took a closer look and read,
"Final math exam." My stomach drops, realizing I forgot to study.
Suddenly, I started to feel really nauseated and I guess I looked really sick because I was sent to the nurse's office. As I was running down the hallways, everything started to fade and suddenly everything just went black. That's the story of how I fainted, but got to skip my test.

100 WC Week 15

As Lonely as a Trash Bin

I never knew that a trash can would represent how I felt going to the beach. My friends asked me to go to the beach with them but when we got there, it felt like I didn't belong there. All of them were so energetic, and outgoing. I felt shy and quiet. Trailing behind my friends, I noticed a grey bin filled with trash standing alone while bright bins stood close together.
"I guess he's feeling the same as me." I say, almost sure that I heard him say the same to me.

100 WC Week 14

Cereal Box

My favourite cereal started putting prizes in every box like stickers, but there was one box where you could win a free bike. I was determined to find that box. Later that day my room was filled with cereal boxes, but after going through most of the boxes,I was ready to give up but there was one unopened box.
"Moment of truth." I say to myself as I put my hand in the box and felt a small piece of paper. It revealed a coupon for free milk.
"Great, now all I have is a pile of stickers and a lot of cereal." I said disappointingly.

100 WC Week 13

Crowd Surfing

I never thought crowd surfing would get me to the hospital. I was on stage, lights were flashing, fans were singing, it was breathtaking and it seemed like the perfect time to jump.
The guitarist was doing his solo so I jumped and had the best time of my life.
"3, 2, 1" I said  jumping face first. I could see the floor appearing, I thought they would catch me but the spot just grew and grew. I fell on my stomach and it felt like the floor punched me. I think I'll stay away from crowd surfing for a while.

100 WC Week 10

"Hey Luke. Look at that man. He's like a statue." Michael exclaimed. Michael always said what was on his mind so it didn't bother me until I noticed the man heard him.
"You should apologize." I told him. We walked towards the man  looking as nice as we could but something about him made me feel uncomfortable.
"Sorry about that." Says Michael apologetically.
"It's all right." Says the man smiling.
Suddenly he looked straight into my eyes and in an instant, the man turned Michael and I into statues.  Now, I have to stay standing for the rest of my life.

100 WC Week 9

The Troubles of Being a Superhero

You may think being a superhero is exciting, but it can get tiring. You always have to be alert for the terrors of the city. When you're a superhero you never get to say,
"Time to relax!"
Then there's false alarms. You get dressed and fly around, looking for what's causing trouble. Then when you realize it was a false alarm, you get exhausted and annoyed. So if you ever consider being a superhero, ask yourself,
" Do I really want to wake up in the middle of the night, get dressed, save lives, then repeat that every day or night?"
